Band of Survivors Update 16 – Franny Gantner

Today we spent our fist day working with the KROC Center in South Chicago. We held a Vacation Bible School for the kids at Cooper Park. The kids learned about when angels rescued Paul from prison and the memory verse Psalm 119:151 “Yet you are near, O LORD, and all your commands are true.” After the kids left we split up into three teams for service projects. One team cleaned up the park, one team took inventory of park supplies, and the last team made signs for our prayer walk on Friday.

Afterwards we went to the KROC office, as they do not have an actual building yet. Major Harvey showed us the drawings for the future KROC center which included a pool, musical practice rooms, a teen room, golf course, and worship center, just to name a few. After meeting the kids of the community earlier that day, I was moved just thinking of how the future center will change lives.
