National Headquarters has initiated a change in Sunday School Curriculum (for all ages) which will replace Word Action and will be implemented in June 2017. It is called “Orange”, and it’s not only a new curriculum, but it’s a change in the way we think about doing Sunday School and church throughout the week.
Orange is very intentional about engaging the family and church together. In fact, as you will see from the explanation below, that’s how they came up with the word Orange.
Orange explains their philosophy this way:
“We’re often asked why our organization is called Orange. We believe God designed the family (red) to nurture the hearts of children, and the church (yellow) to shine the light of Jesus. When the church and the family collide (orange), amazing things happen in the next generation”.

The Youth Department is excited to come alongside you in implementing this new Curriculum! In order to assist you with this, 4 training sessions are scheduled for January, March, and May which will include an “Orange Party” atmosphere as well as a model lesson with Corps Officers and Sunday School teachers/leaders.
**PLEASE NOTE: As a 2-Star event, all officers are required to come to at least one training.
**PLEASE RSVP by Corps by January 16, 2017. Talk to your Corps Officer about how to do this.

Saturday, January 28, 2017, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Harbor Light
Saturday, March 18, 2017, 9:30 – 11:30 AM at Norridge Citadel
Monday, March 27, 2017, from 6:30 – 8:30 PM at Hammond Munster
Monday, May 8, 2017, from 6:30 – 8:30 PM at Belvidere
Also, there will be a special “Orange Party” kick-off for Rally Day 2017 with materials for this special day provided by the Youth Dept.
