WHAT IS YOUTH COUNCILS?

We have two tracks to set up so that we can tailor everything to the specific needs of your youth. To attend the Jr. High Track, youth must be in 6th, 7th or 8th grade by April 8, 2016. In order to be in the High School Track, youth need to be in 9th-12th grade by that same date.

WHEN IS YOUTH COUNCILS?

Youth Councils 2017 is being held from April 7-9, at Wonderland Camp & Conference Center.

HOW MUCH DOES YOUTH COUNCILS COST?

$50 for all delegates and leaders. That includes all your meals, snacks, lodging, main sessions, concerts, banquets, jokes, good times, pillow fights, and more.

WHAT IS THE THEME FOR YOUTH COUNCILS?

The theme for the weekend is Identity. Our identity should be modeled after the life that Jesus lived. The things he cared about are the things we should care about. Our lives should look more and more like Jesus’ life in the Bible each day. Identity isn’t just about who we are right now, but about who we’re becoming.

She is still learning more and growing every day – a beautiful work in progress.

IS THERE A BANQUET OR SOMETHING?

Yes, you’ve heard the rumors, and they’re all true. How could we not have a banquet after last year’s huge success? This year, the theme is “Hollywood”, and youth and leaders alike will have the chance to dress up as their favorite celebrities. We’ll have good food, photo booths, and a red carpet!

OPEN MIC

We know that the youth of our awesome Division are just so talented, and we want to see those gifts in action. That’s why we’ll be hosting an Open Mic on Saturday. Whether you want to sing, play an instrument, share spoken word or do a magic trick, the Open Mic will be a space for students to share their gifts in a safe place – without judgement and with support. Get thinking about what you might share. Sign ups will happen at Camp.

WORLD SERVICES FUNDRAISER – 20 NEW CORPS! HONDURAS & VENEZUELA

This year the Metropolitan Division is supporting two Latin American countries who are in need of buildings to continue running their programs and/or begin new corps plants: Honduras and Venezuela. The Salvation Army in Honduras runs school programs at two different hospitals in the country. These programs help to keep children from falling behind in school while they are sick. Raising money for Honduras will allow for a new building to continue this important program. There are five Salvation Army units in Venezuela. In Caracas, Venezuela corps begin as house churches where Salvationists and their friends gather to sing, pray, study the Bible and share their lives. The Corps Officers will often live in the home where the congregation meets.

This year, the youth of the Metropolitan Division will come alongside the rest of the Division in raising money for these two countries. We want to be a part of keeping their programs running in safe and functional buildings. Watch for more information coming to your corps soon!

MINISTRY BREAKFAST

On Saturday morning at 8:30 AM, we invite all students to participate in a ministry exploration breakfast. Do you have questions about what ministry opportunities exist for you in the Army? Then this is the place for you! This breakfast will explore full time ministry of all types.

We can’t wait to see you there!
